There are four composite RCA video inputs. The receiver has three digital audio inputs (one coaxial and two optical), RCA audio connections for a CD player and CD or Cassette audio recorder, and a subwoofer preamplifier output. In addition, the HTR-5390 also has a dedicated 5-channel direct input that can be used when needing to access the multi-channel audio output from an SACD or DVD-Audio Player. Video Outputs: The Yamaha HTR-5390 offers two types of video monitor output: Component and Composite. In other words, to view your VCR on your TV, you need to use the composite video monitor connection. Dolby Prologic II processing enables the htr-5930 to extract 5.1-channel audio from absolutely any stereo or multichannel source. In addition, Yamaha provide additional surround modes that can be used in conjunction with both Dolby Digital and DTS. Audio Features - Part Two: Although the HTR-5930 is a 5.1 channel receiver, it is compatible with Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES 6.1 channel programming; the Receiver simply mixes down the 6.1 channel information into its 5.1 channel soundfield. The receiver features also features linear PCM 192 kHz/24-bit D/A (Digtal-to-Analog) converters. The HTR-5930 also has a dedicated audio line output for a powered subwoofer. In addition to its surround capabilities, the HTR-5930 can also be used in a standard 2-channel stereo operation, and, unlike many budget-price home theater receive
